IAFF Local 2250 Fire/Medical Service Educational Scholarship

            Scholarship available to students entering fire/medical service field. Applications available in Guidance Office with a deadline of April 28.

 Nancy Steiner Scholarship

            The scholarship is to develop leaders in the environmental field and is open to students majoring in environmental science, natural resources, biology, dendrology, agronomy, wildlife management, etc. Applications are available in the guidance office and the deadline is April 15.

 Rove Pest Control Scholarship

            Rove Pest Control in Minneapolis is pleased to offer The Rove Pest Control Scholarship application for 2018. This scholarship opportunity is open to high school students and graduates nationwide in the United States of America who have been accepted to a college or university. This award will be presented to a United States student for the following academic year in the amount of $500.00 and will be paid at the beginning of the fall semester (2019). Although this scholarship is open to anyone seeking a higher education, special consideration will be given to anyone pursuing a degree in entomology or a related field.

Kisling, Nestico & Redick Don’t Text and Drive Scholarship

Texting while driving contributes to nearly 25 percent of all automobile accidents each year, according to data from the National Safety Council, the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, and various university studies on the subject.

At KNR, we are committed to combatting this issue, and that fight starts with greater awareness amongst the younger generations, and we believe that greater awareness of this issue can make a difference. We are proud to announce the KNR Don’t Text & Drive Scholarship which awards $5,000 to a student pursuing higher-education.

ELIGIBILITY
In order to be eligible for the KNR Don’t Text & Drive Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a United States citizen or permanent resident.

William D. Squires Educational Foundation, Inc. Scholarship

William D. Squires Scholarship applicants must be high school seniors from Ohio but may attend colleges outside of Ohio.  Our recipients are attending 25 different colleges with 14 at Ohio State University during the 2017-2018 school year.

The William D. Squires Scholarship is primarily financial need-based, but ideal applicants have already selected a career goal and are highly motivated to reach their goal.  The Scholarship Selection Committee also considers each student’s academic promise.

The number of scholarships has varied over the years but the award amount was consistent until the 2018-2019 school year.  It has been increased from $3,000 per year to $4,000 and is renewable.  The new scholarship award amount is renewable for a maximum total of $16,000!

UEW Healthcare EEOICPA Scholarship
UEW Healthcare is pleased to offer the UEW Healthcare EEOICPA Scholarship. The Scholarship is open nationwide to those who will be attending college fall semester of 2018. Special consideration will be give to an undergraduate who is interested in pursuing a career in Home Healthcare and knows someone that worked in the nuclear industry and was subsequently approved for benefits under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program (EEOICPA), but anyone meeting the requirements & can demonstrate an interested in pursuing a career in Healthcare will be considered. Charles River - Spencerville- Biomedical Research College Scholarship
Charles River is a global preclinical research business that strives to bring new pharmaceutical products to the marketplace in order to treat diseases and bring a better quality of life.  In order to encourage students to pursue a career in research, the Spencerville division of Charles River offers a $1,000 non-renewing college scholarship to High School Seniors intending to pursue an undergraduate degree in the biological or chemical sciences.  Students interested in applying for this scholarship should get application from guidance office.

Hauss-Helms Foundation Scholarship
The Hauss-Helms Foundation is committed to the support of education, in accordance with the wishes of its founders, who believed that education was of major significance to the progress of human society.  The Foundation devotes a major portion of its resources to providing grants to young men and women residing in Allen and Auglaize County Ohio, who attend colleges, universities and technical colleges throughout the nation.

Midwest Electric & Touchstone Energy Scholarships
Midwest Electric has two scholarship programs: Our General Scholarship for high-performing students; and our Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarship.
Each spring, Midwest Electric gives $9,000 in scholarships to high school seniors whose parents are members of the cooperative, plus an additional $2,000 Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarship below. (The parents must be year-round full-time residents of the cooperative; seasonal and commercial members do not qualify.) The top male and female winners also compete for an additional $34,000 in scholarships from Ohio Rural Electric Cooperatives.

Eligible students, with a minimum cumulative 3.5 grade point average, will receive an interview at the Midwest Electric office in February. (The minimum GPA is 2.75 for the Touchstone Energy scholarship.) Following the interviews, our judging teams will select six finalists – three male and three female students – to compete for $9,000 in scholarships from Midwest Electric. Judging for the six top students will take place later in February.

The first place male and female students will represent Midwest Electric and compete against high school seniors from around the state at the Ohio Rural Electric Cooperatives scholarship competition April 17, 2018 in Columbus.

Honda of America Manufacturing

Mercy Health - St . Rita's is pleased to announce our 2018 scholarship program for future medical providers.Ten $1,500 scholarships will be awarded. Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship for Minority Students

To be eligible for a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Be a graduating, minority high school senior (as defined by Census Bureau)
  • Plan to attend an accredited and approved four-year institution within the United States
  • Show leadership potential
  • Demonstrate a dedication to community service
  • Present evidence of financial need
  • Be a United States citizen
  • Have a minimum SAT score of 1,000 combined on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 21

Fraternal Order of Eagles- 3 Scholarships
Fraternal Order of Eagles scholarship applications are now available in the Guidance office. The George Wilson Memorial Scholarship requires no affiliation; the State Aerie Scholarship requires parent or grandparent to be a member of Eagles Aerie 370 here in Lima as does the Past President’s Memorial scholarship which is open only to females.  A 3.0 gpa is required. Deadline is March 31 and all materials are available in guidance office.

Stolly Insurance SUCCEED Scholarship
Any student graduating high school in 2018 who is a primary resident of Ohio and will enroll in post-secondary education for the 2018/2019 school year. The committee will take into consideration current grades, extracurricular activities, leadership, work ethic, application/essay, and the applicant’s commitment to continued education. Deadline for the application process will be March 9, 2018. Title is linked to application.
Amount: $1,000 per scholarship.  The scholarship may be applied to tuition, room, or books.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Scholarships
The Lower Great Lakes Chapter of NATAS offers scholarships to graduating high school seniors, and to college juniors or seniors attending schools within the Lower Great Lakes Chapter region including: Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Youngstown, Bowling Green, Toledo, Lima and Mansfield, Ohio; Erie, Pennsylvania; and Indianapolis, Bloomington, Muncie and Fort Wayne, Indiana. Students must plan to attend or currently attend a four-year college to pursue a career in the television industry.The deadline to apply is February 28, 2018.
