  • Greetings and welcome to the 2014-2015 school year at Shawnee.  As you know, I became Superintendent of the Shawnee Local Schools one year ago – and what a year it was!  Staff members, parents, students and community members all welcomed me warmly -----THANK YOU!  At Shawnee our focus is always on ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE and on student success in all aspects of life.     We welcome you to our website and hope that it provides pertinent information about our school, students,  staff, and schedules of events.  Again, welcome to the 2014-2015 school year.

Congressional Visit
Shawnee Board Vice President Linda Haycock goes to Washington DC to present the following information.  

1) A realistic, financially feasible, and completely funded Reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.

2) Child Nutrition Act Reauthorization.

3) Increased Federal Funding  for Title I and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

Shawnee Education Association Scholarship

The Shawnee Education Association awards two $500 scholarships each year.  The SEA Scholarship Fund has been established to honor one senior graduating from Shawnee High School and one Shawnee High School graduate.  The SEA wishes to reward students who have achieved excellence while pursuing a well-rounded program of studies.  For each scholarship, the student must meet the established criteria, listed below.


U.S. News Best High School Rankings 2014 - SHS is the 65th highest performing public high school (charter, magnet or regular public) out of 832 Ohio high schools and 1,352nd nationally of 19,411 public high schools.  These rankings are based upon actual student performance in reading and math compared to a statistical expectation, the performance of our “least advantaged” students and college readiness as determined by the AP participation rate and level of student performance.  click here for details
