Shawnee High School senior Ava Patel has been named the Lima Exchange Club’s Youth of the Year! Ava was selected for this prestigious honor based on her thoughtful response to this year's essay prompt, which focused on how young people can contribute to society. In her essay, Ava highlighted her role in founding the Red Cross Club at Shawnee High School—a student-led organization that fosters community service, encourages volunteerism, and offers support to fellow students in need. Ava’s dedication to making a positive impact is truly inspiring, and this recognition reflects her hard work and commitment to helping others. Congratulations, Ava! Your Shawnee community is incredibly proud of your achievements and the example you set for others.
